Welcome to our patient reception room! We’ve created this area of our website specifically for patients of Dr. Marcantel. If you’ve spent some time on our site you know that there’s a lot of information that we provide as a service to the general public. We have thousands of visits a month from people all over the world and we certainly hope they are benefiting from the articles, news reports, and links we continue to add to the site. However, as the site grows we felt it was important to provide an area where patients of Dr. Marcantel can go to easily find links and information that pertain specifically to them.

Dr. Marcantel Recommends
Here’s a resource list of products and services that Dr. Marcantel recommends for her patients and where they can be found locally:
Elements Compounding Pharmacy in Gilbert is a great resource for your compounded prescriptions. It’s conveniently located just south of Highway 60 on Gilbert Road. RxFormulations compounding pharmacy in Mesa is another excellent place to have your prescriptions filled. Both pharmacies do compounding of bioidentical hormones as well as a wide variety of other services.
If you need blood lab screenings done, we recommend Theranos to our patients. Results are fast, accurate and cost a fraction of the prices charged by the “big guys.” Healthwaves is another great option for some types of tests. They offer blood draws and screenings for the public at Fry’s store locations throughout the Phoenix area, usually at a fraction of the cost you would pay at a lab. Click on the link to see their current lab screenings schedule.
Stevia–This natural sweetener is the one Dr. Marcantel highly recommends. We carry it in our medicinary, and it’s available in most grocery stores. You may not find it with the artificial sweeteners; try the health food section.
Ezekiel 4:9 products (Food for Life) Very healthful cereal, pasta, and bread products. In the Phoenix area we’ve found Ezekial 4:9 products at Basha’s, Fry’s, Sprouts, and Trader Joe’s.
Trader Joe’s grocery store. They offer a good variety of healthy foods at reasonable prices. Click on the link to connect to their website and find the location of a store near you.
Wild Salmon Burgers from Omega Foods. These are quarter-pound patties that you can cook straight from the freezer. They’re fast, delicious, and full of omega-3 fatty acids. We’ve found them in the Valley at Costco and Sprouts.
Looking for a great beginning yoga workout? We love Yolanda Pettinato’s series of DVDs: 30 minute sessions that are relaxing but still offer a variety of easy-to-moderate poses for the beginner. You can find them offered on Amazon.
Excellent books on women’s health issues:
Imagine: a whole Different Kind of Medical Care by Tina Marcantel, N.M.D and Peter Marcantel, M.Ed.
Of course, we have to start here! Dr. Marcantel’s book is a great introduction to the naturopathic approach to wellness care, but it goes far beyond that. The book covers a wide range of common chronic health challenges, including detection and treatment options for thyroid problems, adrenal fatigue, hormonal imbalances, gastrointestinal problems, and many more. A must-have book for anyone wanting to take a proactive approach to his or her health care. Available in paperback or eBook formats.
Women Food and God: An Unexpected Path to Almost Everything by Geneen Roth
This popular author was featured on the Oprah Winfrey show. Her book addresses the critical topic of not just what we eat but why we eat. The ideas in the book about developing a healthy relationship with food are reflected in the weight maintenance principles Dr. Marcantel teaches her patients.

This book explains natural hormone replacement and gives a new perspective on the treatment of hormonal imbalances.
Stop the Thyroid Madness: A Patient Revolution Against Decades of Inferior Thyroid Treatment by Janie A Bowthorpe, M.Ed.
The cover blurb describes the book as “Breaking information by patients, for patients about a better medication, dosing by symptoms, wiser labs, adrenal fatigue, and other related issues.” This is an eye-opener that confirms much of what Dr. Marcantel has observed in her clinical practice regarding the importance of proper thyroid disease diagnosis and treatment.

The more nutrient-dense food you eat, the less you crave fat, sweets, and high-caloric foods.
